GOV UZODIMMA LAUNCHES IMO INDUSTRIAL POLICY

Imo State Government has launched Imo Industrial Policy as a strategic master plan to stimulate the growth and development of all sectors of economy in the state.
At the event in Owerri, the state Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, said the programme would put Imo on economic potentials towards industrialization of its key sectors and called on investors to take an advantage of the programme.
He said the policy would provide the enabling environment for the flourishing of economy and a plan that would gurantee the future of youths for long life and prosperity.
Senator Uzodimma assured the people of the state of his administration’s determination to bring back the moribund industries into work and place Imo State on long term economic sustainable initiative.
Earlier, the Regional Director of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Mr. Jean Bakole, stated that the industrial policy was designed to drive Imo State industrialization development through key existing and emerging subsectors to help create employment.
In an address, the Chief Economic Adviser to Governor Uzodimma, Professor Kenneth Amaeshi, emphasized that there were viable opportunities in solid minerals, oil and gas, but over the time constrained by poor infrastructure, weak regulation and low manufacturing base, amongst others.
