ABIA GETS ACTING CHIEF JUDGE

Justice Lilian Abai has been sworn in as Acting Chief Judge of Abia State.
Performing the ceremony at Government House, Umuahia, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu advised the new Acting Chief Judge to sustain the existing peace and harmony between the judiciary and the executive arms of government in the state.
Governor Ikpeazu used the occasion to commend the judiciary for setting out a template for a seamless transition in the profession and pledged maximum support of the state government to ensure her smooth operation in office.
He thanked the immediate past Chief Judge, Justice Onuoha Ogwe (retd) for working harmoniously with the executive arms of the state government during his years in service.
In her acceptance speech, the new Acting Chief Judge, Justice Lilian Abai, thanked the Governor for the opportunity to serve and expressed optimism to discharge
her duties creditably and maintain the existing harmonious relationship between the judiciary and other arms of the government.
The swearing in of the Acting Chief Judge followed the recent retirement of the state Chief Judge, Justice Onuoha Ogwe.
