ANAMBRA BANS INDISCRIMINATE WASTE DISPOSAL

Anambra State Government has banned open and indiscriminate disposal of waste in the area.
This was contained in a statement made available to journalists by the Commissioner for information, Mr. Paul Nwosu.
The statement indicates that government has advertised for 31 Service Providers, who will take up the task of waste disposal in all the constituencies of the state.
It notes that the public hearing on contract document holds on June 10, while successful contractors will get their award letters on June 13.
The statement further lists the criteria, which the contractors must meet.
They include having basic waste collection and evacuation equipment such as: trucks, pail loaders, compactors, evacuators, swing-arm as well as a minimum of 3months working capital,
and at least 3yrs of waste collection experience.
