NYSC COMMENDS HOUSE OF REPS, NIGERIANS FOR SUPPORTING NYSC TRUST FUND BILL

One thousand, two hundred and fifteen 2022 Batch A Stream 1 NYSC Corps members have commenced three weeks Orientation Course in Ebonyi State.
At their swearing in ceremony at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Afikpo, the State Coordinator, Mrs. Mercy Dawuda, called on the Corps members to uphold the tenets of the scheme to move the nation forward.
The Coordinator, who presented the address of the Director General of NYSC, Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim, noted that the scheme was pleased with the House of Representatives for given adequate attention to NYSC Trust Fund Bill.
She appealed to appropriate authorities to provide necessary enablement for the passage of the bill as NYSC Fund would boost entrepreneurship development programme aimed at empowering Corps members for wealth creation.
“I consider it most appropriate to use this opportunity to thank the House of Representatives for the progress made so far in legislative process on the Bill for the establishment of NYSC Trust Fund.
“I also wish to thank Nigerians for the continuous support for the proposed Trust Fund, especially as overwhelmingly demonstrated during the public hearing conducted by the House of Committee on Youths on the matter,” she said.
Mrs. Dawuda sought the support of all stakeholders for the success of NYSC Health Initiative for Rural dwellers.
She urged the Corps members to pay attention to Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme to be self reliant.
“You are expected to choose from any of the skill acquisition areas and make yourselves available for training,” the NYSC Coordinator said.
Meanwhile, the oath of allegiance was administered to the Corps members by Justice Iheanacho Chime of the Ebonyi State High Court.
