NSCDC APPREHENDS 2 SUSPECTED ADULTERATED DIESEL DEALERS IN EBONYI

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested two suspects and impounded a truck laden with 13,000 litres of a petroluem product suspected to be adulterated diesel in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

The Commandant of the Corps in the State, Mr.Terrumun Gbue, stated this while parading the suspects before journalists at the Command’s Headquarters Abakaliki.

Mr. Gbue, who just resumed office in the state, explained that the suspects were intercepted at Abakaliki-Enugu Expressway by the Corps operatives, noting that they failed to present a document establishing where the product was lifted from.

Mr. Gbue emphasized that the Command was determined in line with its core mandate to check all forms of vandalism, maintaining that the suspects would be prosecuted after investigations.

The suspects, who gave their names as Chukwuemeka Ezenna and Onyekachi Ugwu, said they were asked to supply the product to GSM Mast Stations located in Yahe in Cross River State, noting that their company only gave them way bill clearance paper.

They stated that their Comapany was located at Emene Enugu and denied involvement in any illegal activity as being alleged.
