FISH OUT GHOST WORKERS— GOV OBIANO ORDERS NEW HEAD OF SERVICE

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has sworn-in Mrs. Theodora Igwegbe as the new Head of Service.

At a brief ceremony at the EXCO Chamber Government House, Awka, Governor Obiano charged the new number one civil servant to flush out ghost workers from the system. 

Mrs. Theodora Igwegbe took over from Mr. Harry Udu, who retired from service on January 1, 2022.

Gov. Obiano described the new Head of Service as a very disciplined, highly professional lady, who from her citation had distinguished herself an as what a decent woman should be.

The Governor charged Mrs. Igwegbe to hit the ground running, reminding her that as head of service, one of the greatest challenges before her would be to fish out ghost workers.

The Governor promised the new Head of Service of his support on the issue of discipline, transfer and promotions.

The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mrs Uju Nwogu, advised the Head of Service to ensure that there was no vacuum in the civil service.

In her remarks after the swearing-in, the new Head of Service, Mrs. Igwegbe, thanked the Governor for the appointment and commended him for being gender friendly as well as believing in her.

The new Head of Service, while calling for encouragement from government, stressed the need for training and retraining of civil servants for better service delivery.
