UNICEF URGES INCLUSION OF MORE WOMEN IN GOVERNANCE
As people all over the world mark this year’s International Women’s Day, the Chief, United Nations Children’s Fund, Enugu Field Office, Dr. Ibrahim Conteh has praised women’s contributions to the advancement of humanity.
Dr. Conteh, who gave the commendation in Enugu, noted that promoting and respecting the rights of women ensured global peace, progress and stability.
He called for the inclusion and participation of more women in governance.
In her submission, the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Chinyere Okunna, explained that achieving the sustainable development goals, demanded that women and children were educated and empowered.
The theme of this year’s international women’s day is,”think equal, build smart, innovate for change.”
