ROAD CONSTRUCTION: ABIA RESIDENTS HAIL GOV OTTI

REPORTER: PEACE AGBO

Some residents of Aba have applauded Governor Alex Otti over the numerous road constructions since his assumption of office as Abia State Governor.

The projects included the long abandoned Port Harcourt road in the capital nerve center of the state.

They made their feelings to Radio Nigeria during Governor Alex Otti’s roads inspection in Aba.

Some of the residents, Mr. Titus Ndubuisi, Mr. Nneamaka Enyidedeya, and Mrs. Ngozi Okeke, described Governor Otti as one that matched words with actions, noting that he is gradually changing the narrative of the city as promised during his campaign.

According to them, the roads he has repaired, along with those currently under construction have showed him as a man they would support in the next election.

They recounted the deplorable state of the roads prior to the Governor’s intervention and noted that no administration in the past 24 years had attempted what he had accomplished within the period in office.

Addressing journalists after the roads inspection, Governor Otti said his administration was working tirelessly to change the narrative of the state, enhance its aesthetics, and drive economic transformation.

Governor expressed satisfaction with the progress of work, mostly the Port Harcourt Road project and assured the residents that the road would soon be inaugurated for public use.

He promised that the state would never again be referred to as a “dirty State” and noted that Aba’s lost glory “is gradually coming back” and appealed to residents to support the government’s efforts by maintaining a clean environment and avoiding the indiscriminate dumping of refuse.

Meanwhile, the roads under construction are the Port Harcourt road, Ekeakpara -NNPC Deport road, Omuma, Eziukwu, Ehi and Clifford roads and all were nearing completion.
