VIRAL VIDEO: POLICE ARREST OFFICERS WHO MANHANDLED MAN IN ABIA

The Abia State Police Command says it has identified the officers allegedly involved in the recent manhandling of a civilian on Lagos Street, Umuahia on February, 20, 2025.

Consequently, the officers involved in the incident which trended on social media are currently under interrogation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).

This was contained in a statement by the Command’s spokesman, Mrs. Maureen Chinaka, who said the public would be updated after necessary administrative actions had been taken against the erring officers.

It expressed the strong condemnation of the unprofessional conduct of the officers by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Danladi Isa.

The Commissioner had warned that under his leadership, the command would be committed to ensuring a professionally competent, rule of law compliant, and people-friendly police force in line with the vision of the Inspector General of Police.

The statement enjoined members of the public to report any misconduct, unprofessional behaviour or incivility by officers of the command to the Complaint Response Unit.
