MATCH INCREMENT IN TARIFF WITH QUALITY SERVICES – ABIA RESIDENTS TELL TELECOM OPERATORS
REPORTER: JOHN MADUAGWU
Telecommunications service providers have been urged to match the increase in tariff they have implemented with improved service delivery.
This is the view of some residents of Abia State in an interview with Radio Nigeria on the recent 50% hike in tariff implemented by telecommunication service providers as approved by the federal government.
One of them, Mrs. Chioma Uchenna, said she was not enjoying the quality of service from the network she is using, and demanded that changes be made now that they charge more.
Another respondent, Miss Ijeoma Alfred, said it was not the fault of the service providers as they were not immuned to the harsh economic realities the country was facing, which might have threatened their corporate existence.
She, however, urged them to step up their services to ensure customer satisfaction as their subscribers were not finding it funny either.
Yet another mobile phone user, Mr. Prince Elemba lamented the high cost of their services as he had not seen value for such increment in data and call services.
Recall that the federal government had earlier approved a 50% tariff hike for the telecommunication service providers after they complained that the high cost of running their operations was almost forcing them to fold up.
