TOWN HALL MEETING: I WILL NOT SHARE ABIA MONEY— GOV OTTI TELLS STAKEHOLDERS

Some stakeholders in Abia North Senatorial Zone, of Abia state have called on Governor Alex Otti to speed up action in addressing challenging issues ravaging the area.
They made the call during a town hall meeting organized for the zone at Ebem, Ohafia Local Government Area to appraise the performance of the Governor as he marks one year in office.
Some of the residents, Mr. Okey Martins, Elder Kalu Ukpai from Ohafia LGA, Mrs. Victory Chinaza and Mrs. Ezinne Okorie, described the rebuilding agenda of the present administration as a welcome development.
The people of the area, who are predominantly farmers, appealed to Governor Otti to expedite action in addressing youth restiveness and boundary crisis, which had been a nightmare.
They further demanded provision of affordable and quality healthcare facility, restoration of ring roads, enhanced security, amongst others.
In a reaction, Governor Otti expressed his resolve towards addressing socio and infrastructural challenges devastating the zone as part of his grassroots development agenda.
He thanked Abia North Zone for their massive support in office and re-emphasized that his government was not ready to share money but to develop the state with its resources.
The Governor stressed that he would submit himself to audit at the end his government.
Governor Otti said from next month, he would commence tour of the 17 Local government councils in the state to have assessment of the areas.
In his remark, the Deputy Governor, Chief Ikechukwu Emetu, explained that the essence of the town hall meeting was to deliberate with the Governor and chat ways forward for the wellbeing of the people of Abia North.
The Chairman of Ohafia Local Government Area, Chief David Onuoha, on behalf of his colleagues in the zone, commended the governor for his responsive governance which he described as a testament to addressing the needs and aspirations of the communities in the zone.
