ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY: OTTI TO INAUGURATE ROADS; NO CELEBRATION

All is set for the inauguration of seven newly constructed and reconstructed roads in Aba and Umuahia to mark the first one year in office of Governor Alex Otti led administration in Abia State.
The roads are the new six lane Ossah road, the dual carriage Dozie Way recently rehabilitated in Umuahia, University road, Green Avenue, Kent by Ehi road amongst others.
Speaking with journalists on the outcome of this week’s State Executive Council meeting presided, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu, said the Governor would also inaugurate the newly completed JAAC building at Ogurube Layout, Umuahia.
Prince Kanu explained that the present Administration had no plans for celebrations but Governor Alex Otti would use the period to engage in town hall meetings with stakeholders in the three
senatorial zones of the state.
On the recent abduction of three siblings by a cyclist in Amaoba Village, Ikwuano Local Government Area of the state, he said Governor Otti had directed the security agencies to rescue the school children unhurt and cautioned parents against handing their children over to strangers.
Answering questions from journalists, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Uzo Nwachukwu, announced that Governor Otti had ordered the expansion of road leading to the JAAC building.
The Commissioner stressing that over N1.5 billion had been injected to ensure to the completion of the building.
He also hinted that the state government would soon conduct local government elections but the government must first complete the on-going revamping of local government headquarters as most of them were met in deplorable conditions.
For his part, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity Mr. Ferdinand Ekeoma noted that Governor Alex Otti had promised not to abandon any project inherited from his predecessor.
