CHRISTMAS IS LOVE, DO NOT PROMOTE INIQUITY, ADDRESS ISSUES AFFECTING POOR MASSES — ARCHBISHOP IBEZIM
REPORTER: NDU NWANNAH
The Archbishop, Province on the Niger, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, the Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, has charged political leaders to put measures in place to address issues confronting the citizens.
The Most Reverend Ibezim, who is also the Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, stated this in his Christmas message.
He urged political representatives to serve meritoriously by advancing solutions to problems affecting the masses, instead of adding pains to their lives through unproductive policies.
The Archbishop said the “true meaning of Christmas is love” and as such christians should continuously promote the love of God in their daily endeavours.
He noted that God is an embodiment of immeasurable love, who brought His son in human form to offer salvation to humanity, stressing that there was the need for the faithful to reciprocate such gesture by living according to His dictates.
The Most Reverend Ibezim noted that life without Jesus Christ was in futility, while charging christians not to celebrate iniquity during Christmas but to promote agape love through forgiveness and reconciliation.
