NLC OWERRI RALLY: THUGS BRUTALISE AJAERO, UNION SAYS HE NEEDS MEDICAL ATTENTION

The President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero, has been referred for ophthalmic investigation, a head/brain scan, a full body scan, and cervical spine therapy among other investigations.

This followed an attack on the labour leader and his members by some thugs during NLC’s planned rally in Owerri.

This is contained in a message sent by the Head of Information of NLC, Comrade Benson Upah, to journalists in Owerri.

According the statement, the NLC President, Joe Ajaero is presently on a neck collar with weals all over his skin.

It stated that Comrade Joe Ajaero was taken to the Police Hospital in Owerri, later taken to Federal Medical Centre, Owerri where he is receiving medical attention.

Thoroughly brutalized, his right eye at the time of contact was completely shut.

His phones, money and other personal effects were taken off him and have not been returned to him.
