ABIA GOVT TO INVESTIGATE OGBO HILL ABA ACCIDENT

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti has promised that thorough investigation will be carriedout to ascertain the immediate and remote cause of a recent accident that claimed one life at waterside Bridge, Ogbor Hill Aba.

Eleven others also sustained various degree of injuries in the accident.

In a message after visiting the accident scene and the victims in some private hospitals and the Abia State University Teaching Hospital Aba, Governor Otti thanked God that the victims were responding to treatments.

The Governor, who was represented by his Chief of Staff Pastor Caleb Ajagba, expressed the hope that they would be discharged soon.

He noted that measures would be put in place to forestall future occurrence and enforcing the restriction of movement of heavy duty trucks on that route, to ensure they ply at night only.

Gov. Otti gave an assurance that efforts would be made to put deplorable roads in the city in better condition.

The Governor, who described the accident as unfortunate, assured the victims that the government would take care of their medical bills and ensure they get the best medical care.

Responding, the Medical Directors of some of the hospitals, Prof. John Chikezie, Dr. Patrick Okolo and, Dr. Emenike Chidi appreciated Abia State Government for coming to the rescue of the accident victims.

They described the condition of the victims as stable and expressed the hope that soon they would fully recover and be discharged.
