The General Manager of Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, Amobi Ezeaku, says he is confident that the club will perform very well this season.
Ezeaku made this known in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Awka, while reacting to the flopped proposed friendly match with Enyimba International of Aba, scheduled to hold at the Awka Township Stadium.
Rangers were billed to play Pre season match with the Aba Elephants but the visiting team from Abia State could not make it despite keeping the Flying Antelopes waiting from morning till 5 pm when they left the Awka stadium
Rangers Manager, whose team were visibly angry, described the incident as unprofessional because both clubs had an agreement to play the match.
According to Ezeaku, Enyimba FC kept promising that they were on the road coming but failed to arrive in Awka until the time Rangers players left in the evening.
He appealed to the disappointed football fans, who had come out enmass to watch the class A encounter not to be discouraged but continue to support Rangers Football Club as they did last year.
The team manager who described Rangers players as a promising team with young players on board, expressed the hope that the coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, knows how best to bring out the best from them.
He noted that the players were already playing the club pattern of play and strategic plan which is what the coach wants them to do and it has translated possitively from the few build up games they played so far.
Radio Nigeria gathers that the Sporting Director of Enyimba FC, Ifeanyi Ekwueme and other Management of the club arrived the Awka township stadium while the players and other crew was said to be on their way as at five o’clock in the evening when Rangers team left Awka for Enugu.
