OTTI BANS COMMERCIAL MOTORCYCLE OPERATIONS IN UMUAHIA & ABA

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has directed the immediate ban on the operation of commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as Okada, within Umuahia, the state capital, and Aba, the commercial nerve centre of the state.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Kazie Uko, explains that the directive takes effect from Monday, August 14, 2023.
The statement notes that any motorcycle seen on the streets of Umuahia and Aba townships being used for such purpose will be impounded by the security agencies.
According to the statement, security agencies are directed to arrest any individual caught violating this order for prosecution.
