POLICE ARREST 2 ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS IN ANAMBRA

The police operatives in Anambra State have arrested two suspected armed robbers in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, said in a statement that the operatives in Obosi while on patrol intercepted a three-man criminal gang riding in a tricycle around Littlewood Estate.

According to the statement the gang members, who engaged policemen in a fire fight, bowed to superior firepower of the operatives, who arrested two of them with gunshot wounds, while the other suspect managed to escape.

The statement indicated that two Berreta Pistols and two rounds of ammunition were recovered from the hoodlums.

It gave the names of the arrested suspects as Amaechi Precious (male, 25yrs) from
Obosi, and Almazer Avalumo (male, 25) from Adikpo in Benue State.

The statement said the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aderemi Adeoye, had charged police officers to sustain the fight against criminal elements wherever they might be lurking within the state.
