EBONYI STATE GOVT AWARDS SALARY INCREASE, APPROVES NEW RECRUITMENT

Ebonyi State Government has approved N10,000 increment on workers salary.

The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Jude Okpor, told journalists that the approval was part of the outcome of the state Executive Council meeting in Abakaliki.

He explained that the approval was to cushion the effect of subsidy removal on the workers, noting that the Council also approved the employment of 1,454 workers to fill vacant positions in the state civil service.

The Commissioner said the Council also looked into communal crisis between Effuim and Ezza Effium communities, Ishinkwo and Abomege as well as Amana/Ikwo in Ezza South and Ikwo Local Government Areas. and set up three committees to look into the crisis.

Mr. Okpor further told journalists that the State Governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru, gave matching order to the Commissioner for Water Resources to ensure that water starts running in the state capital before the next Executive Council meeting.
