JUSUN STRIKE CRIPPLES COURT ACTIVITIES IN ABIA
REPORTER: JOHN MADUAGWU
Workers, lawyers and litigants have not been able to get into the premises of Abia State Judiciary, High Court complex this week following a strike by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Abia State branch.
According to a notice dated 23rd March, 2023 posted on the gate of the High Court and signed by the Chairman, Comrade Ezeh C.N, and one Comrade Ukonu Edward, who signed for the Secretary, the action was blamed on the non compliance of the state government to the payment of workers’ entitlements after writing them on several occasions.
Many lawyers, litigants and others who had business in the court premises were seen outside discussing in groups while those who were tired of waiting left.
Some union members were also seen close to the gate enforcing the action and ensuring that nobody gained access into the court premises.
