EID EL FITR: POLICE ASSURE OF SECURITY IN ABIA

The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, Mr. Mustapha Bala, has congratulated Muslim faithful and the peace loving people of the State on the 2023 Eid El-Fitr.

In a statement on behalf of the Police Commissioner, the Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonna, urged the faithful to always embrace the tenets of the period and reflect on its significance to Muslims.

The statement enjoined all Islamic faithful in the state to go about their EId-El-Fitr celebrations without fear or threats and warned all miscreants to steer clear from Islamic praying grounds.

According to the statement, the State Command has emplaced actionable strategies in synergy with supportive sister security agencies to provide adequate security at the designated prayer grounds before and during the period.

Consequently and in line with Standard Operational Practices, the statement said “the Police Commissioner had directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Heads of Tactical teams and formations in the Command to intensify confidence building patrol around prayer grounds in their respective areas of responsibility.”
