REPORTER: PEACE AGBO
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has tasked the people of the state to keep hope alive for a better society.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Onyebuchi Ememanka, Governor Ikpeazu charged Abia residents to remain hopeful for better days ahead for the State.
The Governor, in his Easter Message, thanked the people of the state for the privilege of serving them as Governor for eight years and for their peaceful conduct in the just concluded 2023 general ellection in the area.
The statement urged winners to be magnanimous in victory, keeping Abia State in full focus while urging those who were not successful in the election to either accept the outcome or if they so wish, seek redress in the tribunal.
The statement reminded political leaders that Abia State is bigger than all of them and would remain long after they were gone.
It admonished Abia residents to reflect on the lessons of the Easter and its influence on Christian lives.
The statement further advised the residents to continue to live in peace with one another and avoid anything capable of destroying the existing peace and security so far enjoyed in the State.
