PANIC AS GUNMEN WREAK HAVOC IN OKPUNO, ANAMBRA

One person has been shot while about four others sustained various degrees of injuries when unkown gunmen attacked Goodwill Junction, Okpuno in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

An eyewitness, Mrs. Constance Okwuoma, narrated that the unidentified men arrived the area and started shooting indiscriminately.

She noted that the attackers used knife to remove the eye one of the residents, while inflicting injuries on several others.

According to the eyewitness, the gunmen also shot another resident in the leg, while some others sustained various degrees of injuries.

The incident caused panic in the ever busy Goodwill Junction as residents, motorists and traders scampered for safety.

Radio Nigeria gathered that shortly after the incident occurred at about 5:30pm, police operatives arrived the scene for on the spot assessment of the attack.
