INEC SUSPENDS ABIA RESULT

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended further collation of the March 18 Governorship election result from Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
In letter sent by the INEC Headquarters to the Administrative Officer of INEC in Abia State, Mr. Clement Oha, the Commission ordered that the election results be suspended until final investigation is carried out.
He stated that a team lead by a National INEC commissioner from Headquarters Abuja would be in Umuahia on Tuesday, 21st of March, to conduct the necessary review for the process to be concluded.
Meanwhile, governorship results from 16 of the 17 local government areas have been announced by the Returning Officer of the election, Professor Nnenna Otti, remaining Obingwa Local Government Area result.
