President Muhammadu Buhari has inaugurated the first phase MCC Uratta dual carriage Road in Imo State.

President Buhari at the event in Owerri thanked Governor Hope Uzodimma for associating him with successes and making Imo people feel the dividends of democracy.

Earlier, the Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma, said that the road was abandoned 39 years ago after the administration of Sam Mbakwe.

Senator Uzodimma said the road was fully attached with solar powered street light to enhance the security in the area, especially at night.

The manager of the construction company in charge of the road, Mr. Oguzor Markpaul, said the firm had been able to handle the road up to Toronto Junction with the hope of completing the project in no distant time.

The Chairman neighborhood association of Chukwuma Nwoha Federal Housing, Chief Willie Amadi, expressed gratitude to President Buhari for his support to the state through Governor Uzodimma.

Chief Amadi said people will now heave a sigh of relief, expecially those transacting business in the area.

The MCC Road links Owerri Municipal, Umuororonjo, Ekenmegbuoha, Emekuku, amongst other communities.
