POLICE RESCUE THREE CHILDREN, FOIL ATTACK ON INEC PERSONNEL IN ANAMBRA

Police operatives in Anambra State have rescued three children suspected to have been kidnapped in the state.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, identified the children David Frang (8yrs- male); Sarah Frang (3yrs-female); and Sunday Chibuchi (7yrs- male).
According to the statement, the suspects, who are already in custody, confessed that the children were taken away from their parents in the Abia, Akwa-Ibom and Rivers State and brought to Anambra State.
It called on the residents of Abia, Akwa-Ibom and Rivers states to help the command in identifing the children for possible reunion with their parents.
In another statement, the PPRO said police command in Anambra state successfully foiled an attempt by armed men to hurt some electoral officials on an assignment at Ukpor High School, Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state.
It noted that the electoral staff included, INEC staff, some youth corps members, University undergraduates and some Ministry, Department and Agency officials who were on the training as Adhoc staff for the forthcoming 2023 general election in the state.
The statement said though the programme was disrupted by the armed men, no life was lost.
It announced that the joint security patrols had been intensified in the area and efforts were still ongoing to track down the criminal elements.
