NPC BEGINS ONLINE RECRUITMENT, CAUTIONS AGAINST DISRUPTING 2023 CENSUS IN ABIA

Over one million adhoc staff will be recruited for the 2023 Population and housing census billed for April next year.
The Federal Commissioner for Abia State of the National Population Commission, (NPC), Chief Johnny Nwabuisi, made this known during a press briefing on the commencement of the online recruitment of adhoc staff.
Chief Nwabuisi said this was the first time Nigeria would be conducting a digital census to ensure success, and that a lot of resources had already been put in place to ensure the accuracy of figures, which would be difficult to falsify.
He emphasized that those who would be recruited must have knowledge of Information and Communication Technology to enable them to effectively operate the equipment that would be used.
Chief Nwabuisi noted that the essence of the online recruitment was to give all those qualified the opportunity of applying through the NPC portal and being recruited irrespective of their location.
The NPC Federal Commissioner reiterated the importance of Abia people taking part in the census next year and urged those who might want to cause problem during the exercise to think twice as accurate population figures from their area was a major requirement for giving their agitations any consideration.
In their remarks, the State Director of NPC, Ms Adaku Ezebuiro, and the Head, Technical Department, Mr. Ukpai Uduma, noted that a local recruitment review team would be on ground to assist to give those in the hinterland who did not have access to internet connection the opportunity of applying.
