FIRE SERVICE CAUTIONS ABIA RESIDENTS AHEAD OF DRY SEASON

REPORTER: JOSHUA OBIALO

As the dry season gradually sets in, people are advised to adopt preventive measures to avoid fire incidents.

The Zonal Public Relations Officer, Federal Fire Service, for Imo and Abia States, Mr. Mike Anowa, gave the advice in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Aba.

Mr. Anowa said the heat caused by a rise in temperature was the major cause of fire incidents and urged people to avoid using candles and bush burning during the dry season.

He advised people to put off the cooking gas and electrical gadgets when not in use, avoid smoking and disposing the cigarette stumps indiscriminately and ensure adequate ventilation of houses for free flow of air.

The Fire Service image maker advised people living in Umuahia to call O9155844563 during emergency fire incidents, while urging people to live safely this dry season.
