POLICE INSPECTOR KILLS COLLEAGUE IN ABIA

Abia State Police Command has confirmed the killing of one Inspector Samuel Ugwor by his colleague, inspector Atule Benedict, following an argument in Umuahia, the state capital.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonna, in telephone chat said the two police men were from the Special Protection Unit base 15 Anambra State, and were attached to the Member representing Isialangwa North state constituency in the Abia House of Assembly, Chief Ginger Onwusibe.
The PPRO said the the erring policeman is already in custody while case is under investigation by State CID Umuahia.
According to an eye witness, who claimed anonmity, efforts to disarm the suspect by other policemen in their team failed as he reportedly went berserk threatening to kill more policemen.
The suspect was later said to have escaped to unknown destination with his AK-47 riffle and later handed himself over to the State CID Umahia, where he was detained.
