NSCDC ARRESTS 4 SUSPECTED ILLEGAL PETROLEUM PRODUCTS DEALERS IN ABIA

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) Abia State command has arrested four men for their alleged involvement in illegal dealings in petroleum products.
Parading the suspects before newsmen at the command’s headquarters in Umuahia, the State Commandant of the corps, Mr. Mohammad Sanyinna, said three of the suspects were arrested at Ubakala Junction on the Enugu Port Harcourt express way while trying to convey about 33 tons and 33,000 litres of bitumen in a truck with registration number KWL 984XB, Kaduna.
The Commandant noted that one of the suspects was also arrested on the Enugu Port Harcourt expressway while conveying about 50,000 litres of DPK also known as kerosene in a truck with registration number KTU 109XZ
According to the Commandant, a passenger vehicle with registration number AH 265PBT Rivers loaded with about 800 litres of suspected adultrated AGO was equally intercepted at Owaza in Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State.
He gave the names of the suspects as Owen Chinedu, Mustapha Adamu, Isah Adamu and Anas Muhammed,
In an interview one of the suspects, Owen Chinedu, deined been involved in any vandal activities, stating that he was traveling from Aba to Ohafia before he was arrested at Ubakala Junction by the men of the NSCDC.
Thingss allegedly recovered from the suspects include two trucks and a vehicle loaded with suspected adultrated oils.
