More than five persons including security personnel are feard dead when suspected hoodlums attacked the convoy of the senator representing Anambra South Senatorial zone, Ifeanyi Ubah.
The incident which took place at Enugwu Ukwu community in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State threw the entire area into mourning.
Radio Nigeria gathered that the Senator managed to escape as his car was riddled with bullets.
In a reaction, a former federal lawmaker in Njikoka, Mr. Valentine Ayika, while speaking with our correspondent Uche Ndeke in a telephone, described the incident as very unfortunate as the scene looked like a war zone.
Mr. Ayika therefore called on government and security operatives to live up to their constitutional responsibilities of protecting lives and property of citizens as the situation was getting out of hand.

In his words “Yes there was shooting incident at Enugu-Ukwu involving the sentor Ifeanyi Uba this evening.”
He said the Commissioner of Police CP Echeng Echeng personally led Police operatives to the scene and that the situation was being monitored.
