EBONYI STATE GOVT SACKS REFUSE DISPOSAL CONTRACTORS

Ebonyi State Government has sacked all contractors handling waste evacuation in the capital city of Abakaliki.
A statement by the State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Richard Nnabu explained that the state government took the action following complaints of laxity against the contractors.
The statement further called on those who have interest in waste disposal to approach government but must demonstrate the capacity to do so within seven days.
It will be recalled that there have been reports of abandoned refuse dump sites within the metropolis in recent times.
