EID CELEBRATION: CLERIC CALLS FOR SIMPLE LIFE STYLE AMONG LEADERS

REPORTER: BASIL OGBUJI

The Grand Imam of Igbo land, sheikh Chimaeze Emetumah, has challenged Nigerian rulers to adopt simple life style that is worthy of emulation.

Sheik Emtumah gave the charge during Eid Kabir worship at Umuofor Grand Mosque Oguta, Imo State.

He noted that most leaders had gone for extreme materialism at the expense of the common man.

The sheik said, as children of Adam and Eve, Nigerians and their rulers should emphasis on what unite the country than what divide the nation.

According to Sheikh Emetuma, God did not make any mistake in creating different ethnic groups in the country, pointing out that Nigerians should love and coexist with rather than destroying lives and property.

Sheikh Chimaeze Emetuma, who is also a paramount ruler in Imo State, pointed out that growth and development would continue to elude any nation that lay credence on religious and ethnic callings.

He therefore enjoined Muslims to imbibe the key messages of Islam, which centres on peace for a better Nigeria.
