15 FAMILIES OF DEAD POLICEMEN IN ANAMBR GET #9.1MN FROM IGP

The Inspector-General of Police, (IGP), Mr. Usman Baba Alkali, has presented cheques worth #9,100,000.00 (nine million one hundred thousand naira) to fifteen families of deceased police officers attached to the Police Command in Anambra State.

The gesture was an initiative of the IGP family Welfare Insurance Scheme aimed at giving succour to the families of Police officers who died in active service.

Also, the idea was aimed attend spurring officers to greatness while discharging their statutory duties with the assurance that, their welfare was of paramount importance to the administration of the force.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement says the IGP, who was represented by the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Echeng Echeng, while presenting the cheques to the beneficiaries, urged the them to use the money judiciously by investing in a profitable venture that would in turn ameliorate the needs of the dependants left behind.

The Commissioner of Police assured them that officers and men of the Command would continue to put in their best to ensure peace, security and safety of Anambra State.

The statement noted that in the last three months, the Command had received similar cheques from the Inspector General of Police and was presented to the beneficiaries.

The statement indicated that the benefiting families thanked the Inspector-General of Police and pledged to make good use of the largesse.
