HOSPITAL WORKERS IN EBONYI PROTEST GRUESOME MURDER OF COLLEAGUE

Police in Ebonyi State have launched investigations into the gruesome murder of a laboratory scientist working at Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, Mr. Casmir Ani.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Aliyu Garba, made this known when colleagues of the deceased marched to the Command Headquarters Abakaliki to demand the arrest of the killers of Mr Ani.
Represented by a Deputy Commissioner of Police incharge of State Criminal Investigations Department, Mr. Robert Clement, the Commissioner said the command was aware of the killing and called on members of the public to volunteer information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
The National President of Young Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum, Mr. Emmanuel Kuda, who led the protest, described the killing as barbaric and expressed the hope that the command would apprehend the assailants.
Radio Nigeria gathered that Mr. Ani was hacked down while walking home at Awka Street by Udemezue Road Abakaliki in the night while his remains had been deposited in a mortuary.
