NYSC PUNISHES 21 YOUTH CORPS MEMBERS IN IMO WITH EXTENSION OF SERVICE YEAR

Twenty one members of the 2021 “batch A” Stream 2 National Youths Service Corps members deployed to Imo State will have their service year extended by months due to truancy and other infractions during the service.

The Imo State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Rachel Idaewor, made this known during the passing out parade of the batch at Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri.

She commended corps members who impacted positively on the lives of their host communities and urged them to remain good ambassadors of the scheme.

Mrs. Idaewor challenged them to put to use the various skill acquisition programmes they were exposed to, during the course of the service, to be self-reliant.

The Imo State Governor Chief Hope Uzodimma Commended the NYSC for their contribution towards the development of the state.

The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Mr. Dan Ogu, cautioned the youth against involving in anti-social behaviour.

More than nine hundred persons took part in the passing out parade.
