INEC DECRIES DOUBLE REGISTRATION OF VOTERS IN ABIA

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Abia State has expressed concern over double registeration by some registered voters in the ongoing continueous voters’ registration in the state.

The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Dr. Joseph Iloh, made this known while briefing journalists at the commission’s headquarters in Umuahia.

Dr. Iloh stated that double registeration remained illegal and not acceptable by the commission and advised those that had previously registered not to go for another registeration.

He pointed out that only those that had just attained the age of 18 or those that were yet to register for the first time that were eligible for the exercise.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner announced that the commission had recieved dates for primaries from 14 of 18 political parties that had indicated interest to participate in the 2023 general election in the state.
