The Anambra State Government says it will soon upgrade the State Museum located in Igbo Ukwu Community in Aguata Local Government Area.

The Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment, Mr. Don Onyenji, stated this while speaking with Radio Nigeria in Igbo Ukwu.

Mr. Onyenji while commending the people of Igbo Ukwu for already aligning with the vision of the new government by organising a cultural event recently, said plans were on to also reposition other tourist sites across the state.

The Commissioner noted that there was tge need to look into various existing cultures of the people with a view to identifying those that would be expanded and projected to the rest of the world.

He therefore urged residents to keep showing love to one another, work hard, embrace peace and unity in other to attract more development to the state.

According to the Commissioner, when the people join hands in the development of their cultural heritage, it would bring more economic growth to the area.

Mr. Onyenji challenged Igbos globally to preserve and project their culture which distinguished them from other peoples of the world.

Meanwhile, Radio Nigeria observed that the Anambra State Museum in Igboukwu is deplapidated and seemingly abandoned for some time now.
