GOV SOLUDO: WE WILL NOT SURRENDER TO CRIMINALS AS WIFE APPEALS FOR PEACE

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has called on the people to imbibe the spirit of resurrection as they rededicate themselves collectively to the onerous task of building a prosperous, safe and livable homeland for the generations to come.
Governor Soludo made the call in his Easter message to felicitate with the people of the state on the celebration.
He said the solemn occasion of Easter called for a self introspection and deep sober reflection.
Professor Soludo urged the people to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ and the symbolism of His Crucifixion and resurrection in the redemption of mankind.
The Governor reassured the people that the state would continue to thrive on the trajectory of growth, peace and development despite the current wave of insecurity, which is drastically being addressed.
He however called on those who are still in the bush to surrender their arms and accept the olive branch, which had been offered to them, reiterating that as a people, they would never cede or yield their homeland to criminals.
Governor Soludo urged the people of Anambra to continue to live in peace and harmony as well as extend love to one another on this special occasion.
Similarly, the wife of the Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has advised Christians to be ready to make necessary sacrifices as committed followers of Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Soludo, who gave the advice in her Easter message, noted with regret the inability of some Christians to live for the good of others.
She stressed the need for the faithful to soberly reflect on the essence of the Easter season and to firmly key into the dream of the present administration to build a better society.
Dr. Soludo also advised youths to desist from societal vices capable of tarnishing the image of the state.
She equally charged women to harness their God-given potential as great influencers in the family and to re-orientate their children and husbands to become responsible citizens.
She pleaded with the citizens, especially Christians, to pray fervently for the good of Anambra State.
