EBONYI EXCO CAUTIONS AGAINST DISTORTION OF FACTS REGARDING POWER ROTATION, PASSES VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON GOV UMAHI
REPORTER: AMECHI ODO
Ebonyi State Executive Council has called on security agencies to ensure that peace, law and order are not compromised by a few self seeking individuals over the recent judicial pronouncements in the state.
Briefing journalists in Abakaliki, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in the State, Mr. Cletus Ofoke, commended the people of the state for their restraint in the face of provocative pronouncements and interpretations on the judgment and urged them to continue to be steadfast.
The Commissioner said that the Council condemned efforts by some politicians to distract a functional government in Ebonyi State, emphasising that it had confidence in the judiciary to ensure that justice was done on the matter.
The Council alleged that the distortion of facts was a grand design to truncate the peaceful and logical disposition of the Governor to well established culture of rotation of elective political offices in Ebonyi State.
He said the Council passed a vote of confidence in Governor Umahi and urged him not to be distracted in delivering human oriented projects in the state.
