127,424 PVCS YET UNCOLLECTED— EBONYI REC CRIES OUT

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says one hundred and twenty seven thousand, four hundred and twenty-four Permanent Voter Cards are yet to be collected by their owners in Ebonyi State.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Chukwu, stated this while briefing journalists in Abakaliki.
A breakdown of uncollected Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) released by INEC shows that Abakaliki Local Government Area had the highest number with forty -two thousand, eight hundred and sixteen cards yet to be collected, followed by Ebonyi with thirty-seven thousand, one hundred and twenty-seven.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Chukwu, noted that Ohaozara Local Government Area had the least number of uncollected PVCs with one thousand, eight hundred and eighty-five.
He called on the owners of the uncollected PVCs to visit various INEC offices for the collection of their Cards.
Dr. Chukwu said the state had taken delivery of additional sixteen INEC Voter Enrolment Device, (IVED) to support fifteen others, which had been deployed for rotational registration process, which had been on-going in the one hundred and seventy-one political wards in the state.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner added that additional one thousand, one hundred and sixty-one polling units had been created in the state to bring the total number to two thousand, nine hundred forty-six while one hundred and eighty-nine thousand, six hundred and forty-five eligible voters had so far being registered in the on-going Continuous Voter Registration.
