DO NOT ACCEPT FREE RIDE, BE SECURITY CONSCIOUS- NYSC DG CAUTIONS CORPS MEMBERS
REPORTER: AMECHI ODO
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has called on serving corps members to be more security conscious and resist the temptation of accepting free car ride as they move around the country.
The Director General of the Scheme, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, gave the advice during the Terminal Parade of 2021 Batch C Stream 2 NYSC Corps members orientation course at Permanent Orientation Camp, Old McGregor College Afikpo, Ebonyi State.
Brigadier General Ibrahim represented by the State Coordinator of the Scheme, Mrs. Mercy Bamai commended the corps members for their good conduct, noting that their exposure to Skills Acquisition and Entreprenuership Development programme during the course would help them to be self reliant.
He charged them to avoid unauthaurized and night trips as well as late night parties.
He emphasized that the NYSC would continue to collaborate with security agencies and relevant stakeholders on their security.
The Director General called on the corps members to deploy their wealth of experience to the development of their areas of primary assignment but warned them against meddling in the politics of their host communities.
