EBONYI GOVT ORDERS RESTORATION OF PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY TO ABAKALIKI WITHIN 24HRS

Ebonyi State Government has given the state Ministry of Water Resources 24 hours to restore the supply of portable water to Abakaliki capital city.

Briefing journalists at the end of this week’s State Executive Council meeting in Abakaliki, the State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Uchenna Orji, said to ensure the order was carried out, an Exco Committee was set up to monitor the operations of the Ministry.

He noted that the Committee would also monitor the activities of other Ministries Department and Agencies in charge of public utilities as well as Ebubeagu Security Outfit to ensure effective service delivery.

Mr. Orji said the Executive Council meeting approved the redeployment of permanent secretaries in the Ministry of Finance, UBEB, Agriculture and Natural Resources as well as Trade and Investment.

He explained that a new Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Williamson Ufong, from Rivers State was sworn in and deployed to the state Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.
