TRAILER, BUS & SHOP BURNT IN ENUGU AS HOODLUMS ENFORCE IPOB SIT-AT-HOME ORDER

Hoodlums suspected to be enforcing the sit-at-home order declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Thursday set ablaze a trailer and a commuter bus alongside a provision shop in Enugu.
The trailer, carrying a container load of goods, was reportedly on its way to Abakaliki when it was attacked and burnt at the Eke Obinagu Emene axis of the Enugu-Abakaliki highway.
According to residents of the area, the incident happened around 3am on Thursday and the driver escaped unhurt while only the engine-head of the articulated vehicle was totally destroyed.
Another eyewitness stated that the fire from the burning vehicle spread to a provision shop and burnt all the goods.
Radio Nigeria gathered that the hoodlums further attacked a commercial bus, which they burnt beyond repair, but the driver and the conductor also escaped unhurt.
The news of the incidents caused panic in the coal city as some motorists and pedestrians deserted the major roads and streets.
IPOB declared anothe sit-at-home on Thursday across the five South East states to protest the detention and prosecution of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu (MNK).
The IPOB leader on Thursday appeared before a Federal High Court in Abuja where he pleaded not guilty to the amended seven count charge preferred against him by the office of the Attorney General of nation on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The trial judge, Justice Binta Nyako, adjourned the case until November 10, 2021.
Meanwhile operatives of the State Security Services (SSS) otherwise known as Department of State Services (DSS) did not allow any journalist to witness the court proceedings.
