UNKNOWN GUNMEN KILL THREE POLICEMEN IN EBONYI

Three Police operatives have been shot dead by an unknown gunmen at Nwezenyi axis of Abakaliki-Ogoja Highway in Ebonyi State.

The policemen attached to Safer Highway Patrol were on duty at the axis when the unknown gunmen disguising as mourners in a convoy opened fire on them.

It was gathered that after attacking the first patrol team where they killed two police operatives, the attackers drove up some kilometers away and opened fire on another patrol team killing another police man.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Mrs. Loveth Oda, said the command was yet to get the details of the attack but had sent a Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operation to the scene for investigation.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the remains of the slain officers have been deposited in a mortuary in Abakaliki.
