4 POLICE OFFICERS IN EBONYI STATE DISMISSED

Ebonyi State Police Command has dismissed four police officers for alleged extortion of one hundred and thirty thousand Naira from a resident and stealing of a motorcycle belonging to a commercial cyclist.
Briefing newsmen in Abakaliki, the Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr Awosola Awotinde explained that the affected four constables were subjected to orderly room trial after which they were shown the way out of the Nigeria Police Force.
Mr. Awotinde explained that the dismissed personnel would be arraigned in court to serve as a deterrent to other police officers who were in the habit of tarnishing the image of the Force.
The Commissioner of Police said the Command was determined to ensure that officers and men abide by the rules and regulations guiding the Force.
