Management of Parklane Teaching Hospital Enugu Accused of Lack of Transparency
The Enugu State House of Assembly has accused the Management of the State Teaching Hospital Parklane of refusing to provide the financial documents of the hospital.
The Chairman House Committee on Health, Dr Emeka Ogbuabor made the accusation when the Management failed to produce documents that would help the committee study the financial management of the hospital.
Dr Ogbuabor said the Committee was saddened by the fact that despite letters sent to the management of the hospital requiring them to provide the documents, they failed to do so.
The reasons given by the Chief Medical Director of the hospital Professor Hyacinth Onah was not convincing to the Committee.
The committee adjourned its sitting to a later date, following a motion moved by a member, Mr Iloabuchi Aniagu and seconded by Chief Mathias Ekweremadu.
