POOR STATE OF FACILITIES AT AKANU IBIAM INT. AIRPORT
South East Governors have called on the Federal Government to address the deplorable condition of some facilities at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu. The Chairman of Southeast Governors’ Forum and the Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi made this known in a communiqué after a closed-door meeting of the Governors at Government House Enugu.
Chief Umahi said some sections of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport runway had depleted
more even after being resurfaced. Governor Umahi called for immediate intervention on the runway lights and other issues such as flights not landing after half past six o’clock in the evening.
The Chairman said the Forum also commended and urged the Southeast Consultative Committee on Health to facilitate action on ways to setup a world class health facility in each of the states in the zone.
