ANAMBRA STATE TO SUSPEND ONGOING CVR NEXT MONTH
The Independent National Electoral Commission in Anambra State says the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) will be suspended on the seventeenth of August.
The Head, Voter Education and Publicity in the Commission, Mr. Leo Nkedife in a statement announced that the exercise would be suspended in all the twenty one Local Government Areas of the State.
He said the suspension was to enable the commission to have enough time to process the registered voters and produce the Permanent Voter’s Cards before the 2019 general election.
Mr Nkedife who explained that the exercise would continue after the general election maintained that the collection of Permanent Voters Cards would continue until the eighth of February, 2019.
He appealed to the citizens who had not yet registered or who lost their cards to avail themselves of the opportunity.
