FG Extends Drivers’ Licence Validity To 5 years
The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved an extension for the validity period of Nigerian Drivers’ license, increasing the time frame to five years. This was revealed by the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive Officer of Federal Road Safety Corps – Boboye Oyeyemi, when he announced that the decision was taken by the Joint Tax Board at its 134th meeting held recently in Kano.
In a chat with Transport Editors in Lagos, Mr Oyeyemi said that rather than Drivers’ licence expiring in three years, drivers now had the option of settling for either three or five years licence.
This however comes with different price tags. Drivers who want the three years’ licence are to pay N6,000 while those who opted for the five years’ licence would pay N10,000.00
